During the Kaufman Brothers, L.P. Investor Conference in New York City, Ben Feder, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, picked up several interesting topics and made a brief comment regarding the next Grand Theft Auto game. Feder started off by pointing out that Take-Two will be profitable for the first time in nearly a decade without a major Grand Theft Auto release, adding that the publisher remains focused only creating a select number of AAA titles.
As for the next Grand Theft Auto game – Feder said they are not ready to talk yet.
“Unfortunately, we’ve said everything we’re going to say about Grand Theft Auto, I appreciate everyone’s concern and interest as to when the game is coming out,” he said. “We’re not prepared to announce it today, but when we are, we’ll let you know.”
The huge success of Red Dead Redemption was also mentioned along with the belief that in the digital content space DLC not only extends the life of its products but also bridges gaps between releases and keeps the brand fresh in gamers’ mind. Luckily the upcoming title L.A. Noire was also mentioned. Feder said that L.A. Noire: “has got technology and gameplay that isn’t available anywhere else“. So that’s definitely something to keep being excited about!

True, yeah. But at this point a lot of people are glad to hear basically any officials mentioning Grand Theft Auto, whether it’s good or bad news.
Still, I’m quite sure the announcement can’t be too far away.
Yeah i get you, considering the 3 year gap between gta sa and gta 4 theyre bound to say something pretty soon
I am glad that R* is atleast announcing news about GTA V. Even if its bad or good news. We atleast know there WILL be a GTA V. I hope in this one they add EVERYTHING EVER CAME FROM ANY GTA EVER. It would have alot but eh.. Idk. the point is im excited about this.
Oh it’s coming in 2011. it’s already been said but their not saying a word about it until Max Payne 3 is released. as in the Event that’s coming up.
So how do you know it’s coming in 2011?
Actually we can’t know exactly when GTA 5 will be released, but i think it would be for 2012.
if it really takes that long im gonna die. im prayin for next holiday season. at the latest spring of 2012 but even thats stretching things
Looking at the trend of big name releases I doubt we will see a new edition before 2012- these guys are gonna push the boat out to get it perfect. I think that the same problems with releasing gran turismo 5 are gonna hit gtaV
